Olesia is a versatile actor in TV, Film and Theatre. She grew up in Winnipeg, Canada, immersed in the arts, where she performed at an early age on stages as a dancer, singer and pianist. In high school, she took part in musicals, jazz band, the Winnipeg Music Festival Competition (winning numerous piano and vocal classes) and also performed across the country in a folk duet ensemble with her sister, releasing a CD. Having trained at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, she danced with Rusalka Dance Ensemble, and instructed and choreographed Ukrainian folk dance at the UNF School of Dance. She was awarded the Alumni Entrance Scholarship at the University of Winnipeg for "attainment of high school academic standing and promise, noteworthy interest and participation in extracurricular activities in school and community, and leadership qualities and strength of character".
After graduating with a degree in chemical physics, she moved to Seattle, where she pursued formal classical training in acting. She was immediately cast as a supporting lead in her first feature film, as well as a number of stage roles. After fully enjoying her first experience on a film set, she attended film school at the Seattle Film Institute for film production.
Olesia is currently based in Vancouver, Canada. Onstage, she has performed lead roles in theatre, operetta, and musicals, and has had TV show appearances on Bravo, CTV, Fox, ABC and TLC. Behind the camera, she has directed over 20 short films, including the award-winning MIME VS JUNKIE, and produced the Crazy8s short film, SIKAT, which was broadcast on CBC. Olesia also produced four theatre shows, including the sold-out CHEKHOV AT THE HYCROFT: THE BEAR & THE PROPOSAL, which used an Edwardian mansion drawing room to stage Chekhov's comedic one-acts, and garnered attention of the Vancouver Courier - "High praise for Chekhov at the Hycroft... a class act and a rare treat."
Regardless of the medium, Olesia's focus is on mastering the art of storytelling.
"OIesia's the real deal. She has loads of natural ability, and is exceptionally passionate and motivated to learn more, dig deeper, and reach higher. She has access to a deep reservoir of emotions, an ability to play a wide range of characters, and a versatile physicality. She's a joy to direct... and is a 'good vibes' type of person to be around." - BEN RATNER, Director & Acting Coach
